Welcome to the world of off camera flash!

My sadly neglected blog has been calling me and today I realized how I wanted to respond. After reading through the Scott Kelby books on Digital Photography (Volumes 1-3) and watching Zack Arias' OneLight Workshop I finally decided to venture into the deep waters of off camera flash. I headed over to B&H photo and video and ordered the supplies that I needed to start. So coming soon (hopefully next week) will be a collapsible 43" shoot through umbrella,Manfrotto lightweight 6'2" light stand,

and umbrella bracket.

All of this is less than $100 and, combined with my Nikon Speedlight SB600 flash it will allow me to use my off camera flash like a pro (or at least have the potential to get there). I can hardly wait to start posting photos of my set up as well as photos that document what I learn or where I struggle so I'll be watching for you UPS man!!!

Get ready world of off camera flash because I'm going to dip my toes in the water!!!!!!
