A little something new for the weekend

This was a weekend of new things for me. On Saturday I had my first day of Yoga/Pilates class. Surprisingly I was still walking after the class! Even more important, I was still able to drive myself to Ikea for a little shopping after the class! We were in desperate need of storage for the family room and of course, I just love to browse the display floor for ideas anytime I get to Ikea so I was on a mission! I started out in the damaged/demo/returned section to see if I could find any great buys there. I found a couple of possibilities for our DVD storage but nothing seemed quite right so I went through my usual tour of the display floor. I love to go in every room and open everything! It never gets old for me. I knew I would be getting a small Expedit to hold all of my records as well as magazines but the DVD storage was a challenge. Everything I saw designed for that purpose assumed I'd be putting my TV on top. Since our TV is above the fireplace I wanted something I was not finding. I got to the end of the floor and had some ideas written down, but wasn't thrilled with anything. Since I had some thinking to do, I stopped at the restaurant for lunch before heading downstairs and decided to try the Swedish Meatballs for the first time! Yum!!!! They are definately worth getting if you're ever at Ikea!!!!

When I got downstairs I had fun grabbing candles, new plants, and some little kitchen gadgets (the red measuring cups and spoons were too cute to pass up). After loading up my Expedit I thought I'd check the damaged/demo/returned section one more time and that's when I saw this little gem!
It will definately hold our DVDs, was already put together and the price was right so it's ours now! As I was checking out, I had a wonderful family offer their college age sons to help me get my carts down to the main level parking. Then they loaded everything in the truck for me. How nice was that!!!!
Today Greg and I took Darby to his first visit to the dog park. After smelling everything, he realized there were dogs there to play with!!!! He was sure that every dog there would want to play chase with him! There was a three month old Welsh Corgi that was more than happy to play but obviously thought the game was to hang from Darby's tail. Hysterical!!!! It went so well that we'll be bringing him back again very soon. I just wish there was a dog park closer to our house so we could do this daily. It may end up being a special weekend treat but we will be back.
Well that's all the newness I could handle in one weekend so the rest of the day was the same old stuff - watching the Vikings lose, knitting, scrapping and doing laundry.

We went to IKEA yesterday. I can't tell you how much the girls just love the showroom! I couldn't talk them into eating at the cafeteria there. Instead we went to the Taco Bell next door. I'll have to insist on the meatball next time!

I love the scratch and dent area of Ikea too and go there first as well. Score on the cabinet and the extra muscles to load it!
