Easter Baking

I have to admit that I've been spending way too much time browsing Bakerella's website and her holiday creations intrigued me enough that I spent Easter weekend making holiday treats totally inspired by her creations. I made a batch of cupcakes that went from this...
to this with some green food coloring, green sprinkles (and it takes a lot of sprinkles to cover this many cupcakes), colored twizzlers and Easter Candy.
The little chicks, lambs and bunnies were too cute to decide between, so I used all three!

Then it was on to trying my first cake pops. While the very first ones (pictured here) were a bit lumpy and bumpy, the batch I finished today with the melts done in the double boiler instead of the microwave were much more polished looking. Why oh why did I not take a photo of the ones I made today? Too late now as they were a big hit at the family get together.

They were great practice for the next cake pop project I already have started. I hope to share that one soon but for now, it's still a surprise for someone!
